Kolkata Street Art - 1098 #missingirls

Park Street is one of the most famous streets in Kolkata, though it has been named and renamed multiple times over it's lifespan. In fact, officially it's name is not even Park Street, but Mother Teresa Sarani. However, it's original name comes from a deer park which used to be located here, absolutely unimaginable now, but was not such an oddity about two hundred years back.

Stop bombing Gaza!

As M and I walked on the street jumping across various saree shops to buy the simplest possible Durga puja saree (plain white with plain red border), we were exhausted and quite disappointed. Every shop we went to had extremely stylised version of these sarees, apparently those are in vogue now, we had other plans.

And this is where, we found something so interesting that it became the most memorable part of our short affair with Park Street - an parking lot surrounded by old and crumbling buildings, but with their walls adorned with some lovely street art. I was even more happy as this was an unexpected discovery and on a hot and humid day, it was also a sight to behold for our sore eyes.
