A strange cat accosted me as I walked leisurely through the narrow lanes of
Stavanger old town, also commonly known as Gamle. Even as everyone else was fast asleep, I got up and decided to walk around the city, and ended up at my favourite part of the town.

My companion cat! |

A lovely garden in the old town... |
As it was really early morning (7am), even the residents of Gamle were fast asleep and the streets were largely empty. The forecast for the day was gloomy but the morning was a bit better - a bit of sun and a bit of sunshine. But very soon I realised that I had a companion. Everywhere I went, someone followed me. It was a furry brown cat.

This is one of the rare concrete houses there... |

Ah! I love these houses... |

One of the lovely lanes... |
I am not a huge cat fan, but such furry ones can melt anyone's heart. All she did was walk behind me and clean herself occasionally, but we never communicated any more than that. But my interactions with cats haven't been any better before as well.

Cat waiting on me even when I left :) |
As I clicked a few lovely houses and flowers, the cat gave me company. We had to finally split when me desire for coffee overtook every other need, and I walked to the other side of harbour in search of coffee.

Oh by the way, this is a part of my mini-series,
#StavangerDiaries - tiny stories of daily life from the Oil capital of Norway, Stavanger. And what am I doing here? Well, mostly working, but also collecting these snippets of life.
She's probably the town's docent guide.
ReplyDelete:) :)
DeleteIt's always nice to explore a place very early in the morning as most people are still asleep. Lucky I was not the one strolling around Gamle, otherwise I would have played with the cat all day long instead. :)
ReplyDeletehaha...I did try to play a bit with her, but she was more interested in simply showing me around :)
