Tata Zest | Goa | Blogadda | New friends

It was barely six in the morning and I was lying down on a reclining chair just outside my room and right next to the pool, enjoying the tranquility of the moment. Its amazing when you close your eyes and relax, your senses capture sounds that you will not otherwise perceive. I could hear sparrows, koel and an occasional crow. It was peaceful and also a far cry from the hectic times we had so far in Goa; hectic, yet very rewarding.

On the way from Bangalore to Goa

I was in Goa over the past weekend on an invitation by Tata Motors to test drive their new car Tata Zest in an event organized by Blogadda. But we were not just there to test drive a new car (none of us are car experts, we reviewed the car only from the perspective of a common user), but also to meet the Tata design team, build some incredible connections and also meet some of the incredible fellow bloggers we had been virtual freeness with for years!

Best friends forever :)

We reached our very luxurious five star hotel Zuri white sands on Saturday afternoon and spent the first few hours relaxing, meeting up and taking a walk on the beach. Unfortunately for me, I could never jump into the sea or the pool, but I did manage some interesting shots of people doing fun stuff there. I wasn’t one of them :|

Things changed rapidly after our stroll on the beach and we got busy learning about the car, the design process followed and the interactions with the design and engineering team. This was my first trip related to travel blogging where it crossed paths with design. There was an intense half an hour long presentation on the design language and Tata’s design head actually talked about the grille design, the shoulder line etc which was pure music to my ear. I almost felt I was at a design conference and it was an amazing feeling.

Surprisingly I also caught up with a batch mate from NID who was part of the design team, and also a few other designers from IDC. The tone and the content of the conversation changed so much after that and it became a general design talk with them. It was just all so good to hear about design trends in Automobile industry, its future and so on. I was reminded of my own TVS Motors days! Of course, while this was on we were pampered with some great social media cakes for high tea and some interesting Goan delicacies for dinner! It was only around midnight when I eventually retired back to my room.

The second day was even more hectic and full of activities than yesterday. We test-drove the Tata Zest, took pictures, and did a rather interesting live blogging session for two straight hours right after the drive. In one small word it was very very intense and I almost felt like I was taking an exam by the time we ended the session! :) I had never live blogged at an event before and it certainly was an experience. Blogging under time pressure is certainly not easy :) Read about the post here - Zesty time with Tata Zest in Goa!

My partners in crime - for the test-drive :)

The place was beautiful, weather was awesome and the drive in Zest was great, but the thing I enjoyed the most was actually meeting with some absolutely wonderful people - my fellow bloggers as well as the wonderful design, engineering and marketing team from Tata. Our hosts, especially, had just one agenda - to make sure we have a great time!

Finally my Top Blogger badge :)

I do wish there was more time to explore the place more, but then there is always another time for that :)
