Everest before Forty!
This article is a part of Relish the Challenge contest by Godrej Cinthol and here is my second entry for week three :) Every week two new personal challenge from my life! This is the last week and this is my last article in the series...
I mentioned this briefly before, and now let me talk about my biggest personal challenge right now - scaling the Mount Everest before I am 40! Not just the base camp, but the mountain itself! I know its a tall tall order, but then what's life without a challenge that seems insurmountable.
Yes it would require loads of planning and money, but most importantly it will require physical fitness levels that I have never experienced before. None of this is going to be easy, but I am up for it.
I will use this space over the next many years as I progress towards my goal, sharing successes, failures and any potential tips. I am also sure my journey will bring me across some really amazing and inspiring personalities and I shall introduce them as well to my readers.
I intent to use the intervening years relishing the preparation for the challenge, after all everything great is not just the destination but also preparation for the same :)
This is one of the most personal posts I have written in a while, and would love to hear back form you guys. Any help/ suggestion? Please drop me an e-mail or write a comment :)
Here are some other interesting posts on this subject...I will keep adding more here. Also I shall share more stories as I share how my progress here...
MONDAY INSPIRATION: 80 YEAR OLD CLIMBS EVEREST AND HOLDS HIS WORLD RECORD
The Climb: Tragic Ambitions on Everest
The 10 best survival stories
And finally a video of the summit :)
