Blissful Manoj!
|
Zanzari falls are located about two hours away on a bike from Ahmedabad and are wonderful weekend getaway with friends from the city.
Everyone has friends of all types (unfortunately am reminded of the
latest excessively aired Airtel ad), and one survives through life with
them, their support and blah blah. I have a curious friend who has an
unimaginable affinity to all sorts of recesses and crevices. The
affinity increases multifold every time he is on his bike, on the road,
with an unsuspecting pillion friend. With eyes like high speed digital scanners,
every pot-hole, every surface change, and every side dirt road is
captured and immediate action taken to ensure that the bike misses none
of these.
|
Walking towards the falls...you can even do this on a camel! |
|
Appreciate the clarity of water here...Tej in full bloom! |
|
Well...can't really explain what we are doing here, its just a random Tridev pic! |
|
Blissfully Manoj! |
The sole objective of the entire exercise, of course, is to
break balls at every opportunity which presents itself, and this happen
very often on Indian roads (as often as every two seconds). A
fascination to overtake every moving object (unsuccessfully, often) also
adds to experience of any ride with him.
One needs to have an eye always on the road and I would personally
advice the pillion to do so; it would be for his/ her own good and well
being. Also one needs to be agile and exceptionally fit to jump, raise
or do numerous other agile activities if one wants to survive the
journey (don't listen to those who say that the journey is more
important than the destination, with my friend destination is all you
constantly wait for).

I think this is one of the best pic, Bijoy the dude! |
|
Ah! None of us, but Manoj, saw this bird...
|
So for the curios ones who are wondering why this unusual conversation on a
travel blog, well...its just a break from the convention as the post is
about a trip we friends made, yet not only about it. The place is called
Zanzari falls, and is located about 80 kms from Ahmedabad. For anyone
interested in reaching there, use tools like google map etc, but do take
my recommendation and do visit it before the water dries off. Right now
is perhaps the best time for the place, with water just a foot above
your heads at the deepest and some awesome flow.
It isn't exactly a
photography heaven, unless clicking unknown/ random men in their
inner-wear is your genre (and no we had proper swimming trunks, the
comment was purely general and informational in nature). Apparently taking such pictures is our specialty and we had some good hands-on experience that Sunday. A few birds/ trees/ rocks can
also be clicked, if you have Manoj's eyes and his zooooom lens.
|
For some unknown reason they wanted to play dead and get clicked, Manoj's soul just returned at this instant (as water entered his mouth) and get got up! |
|
After trying the baba pose, we decided to abuse Bijoy (who was half in water and clicking us)! | |
The pictures are just a blatant attempt at showing some skin here to get
more people to come and see my blog. Also these have been used without
any prior permission of the
unsuspecting men in them.
For anyone still curious about the bike friend, well...its Tej!
Note: The camera used is Manoj's D5100 and pictures have been clicked by all of us...
sid, some of the credit should go to me as well na ( for suggesting the place ) :)
ReplyDeleteAs usual pics are amazing....
keep going...
Of course it goes to you as well :) Pics are good, but you missed out on reading the post once again :(
ReplyDeleteThe falls look awesome as the title promises, especially the 3rd last pic, minus, well, the boy :p
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if more skin is going to attract more readers. For the record, I just happened to drop by ;)
Oh, that's disappointing! All my plans of making my blog super duper popular with skin-show are getting smashed :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit though Shivya :) Btw I can photoshop and replace the boy in the 3rd pic with a horse. Not sure if the image would still work...
skin show to attract the wrong crowd...should have put the three tattoo pic also..
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea...let me look for that pic!
ReplyDeleteI spot some amazing tattoos..:D

loved how you played with capturing water in different ways!
ReplyDeleteExcellent photographs. The tridev photo is such fun! I remember when I was at University in Cardiff, me and two girlfriends did a similar theen-deviyan shot :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope you and your girlfriends we're not as hairy as them in that pose.
DeleteLooks like you're enjoying your trip and have fun. Fine nature photos.
ReplyDelete@Sridharan: Thanks a lot, we certainly had a fab time :)
ReplyDelete@Bijoy: I think Manoj was much much better off than I was...also because he was singing, maybe he never really realised when all he got hurt :)
@latha: Thanks a lot Latha, I am happy that you enjoyed the blog! Hope to see you more often here :)
@Dishant: I am doing my best to see some places around, fortunately most of them are amazing :)
ReplyDelete@Jules: Hahahaha...perfect! Mission accomplished :)
@Chintan: Yes, I agree my friends are all very hairy (is it an Indian trait?) :)
And I am really glad that you do read the posts, I often spend quite some time writing the posts :)
@Daniel: Thanks, though I have hardly taken many pictures in this post...its more like combined effort!
ReplyDelete@Ash: It was totally fun...and I have not shared the more fun pictures...they might be too scandalous for a public blog like this ;) I would like to see your teen-devian shot...is it on your blog?
@Torunn: Yes, I love these trips the most...they r such amazing stress busters :)
Interesting experience.
ReplyDelete@Rajesh: It absolutely was :) Thanks for the visit :)
ReplyDeleteSimply beautifully captured shots...lovely!

ReplyDelete@Kalyan: Thank you :)
ReplyDelete@Shrinidhi: Thank you :)
@Spencer: I am really glad that you stumbled like you, and you are most welcome here :)
hey Sid, may I know in which month you went this place? And tell me at what time you guys reached there? Is there any availability of good food or we must take it with us as we're going at Zanzari the day after tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteWe visited in September and it was quite nice then as it was just after the monsoon. Make sure u check if there is enough water else it won't be much fun...
DeleteNot many food options, just basic packed food etc, many places to eat on the way though...
