Top Cafes of Pune!
Coffee Culture is fast evolving in Pune and the city now boasts of some pretty amazing cafes. And i am a HUGE coffee fan myself, I love exploring it in my own city. With experience of trying out cafes from the birth-place of coffee, Ethiopia, to the largest consumer of coffee, Norway, I have wide experience in exploring coffee culture. To me coffee is also not just about the product itself, but also the sentiment behind it, and the ambience of cafes certainly add quite a bit more to the whole coffee experience. Let's explore some of my top cafes in my city Pune though a coffee trail :)
I love traveling and I love exploring cafes everywhere I go. So I spent a weekend recently on a coffee trail in my lovely city Pune to bring to you all some stories from some of the places that I personally visit often :)
I also sometimes sit and write my blog here, and also meet many new people for my 365 days project #TellMeYourDream2015.
Baner - Pashan Link Rd
Baner, Pune, Maharashtra
It is also a breakfast place and has some good local breakfast items, particularly the poha is good. The best time to visit is early morning or later in the evening. The place comes alive with the huge student population around.

The story behind the name is really interesting as well - he name actually denotes the temperature at which the ice-cream sold here is stored :) So when you visit the place next, do not forget to try out their ice-cream!

Baner Main Road
Pune, Maharashtra
The place is good not just because of good coffee and books, but because the owner herself is really nice and smiling. In fact, the place is called Song, because its also her name. Song is always there and always smiling. There is chair and table seating on the ground floor, but the first floor has floor seating and I really like sitting there with my cuppa of coffee.

I love traveling and I love exploring cafes everywhere I go. So I spent a weekend recently on a coffee trail in my lovely city Pune to bring to you all some stories from some of the places that I personally visit often :)
1. Pagdandi Books Chai Cafe, Baner
Let us start from close to my home in Pune, and with a cafe which is very close to me. I know the owners (Neha and Vishal) really well and the place almost feels like home to me. More importantly its a place which brings Coffee and Books together, and so makes for a great companion when you are by yourself and want to just read. 10am to 11pm2. Durga Cafe, Kothrud
Durga Cafe is one of those iconic cafes in the town which are extremely simple but become popular because of one legendary food item. The legendary food here is the Cold Coffee. I am usually not a huge fan of cold coffee as I do not take sugar with my coffee, but the one here surely grows on you. I didn't like it the first time I had it, and now if I am in the area, I do make it a point to have it :)It is also a breakfast place and has some good local breakfast items, particularly the poha is good. The best time to visit is early morning or later in the evening. The place comes alive with the huge student population around.

There are many very nice cafes in KP (Koregaon Park), and one of them is Yogi Tree Cafe. The place has decent coffee, but I really like it for it's laid-back attitude. At the end of a long day, its really tempting to just come here, order a coffee and sit for a few hours. You will find some really interesting people crossing your path during the time.

ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic Maria! India's coffee, unfortunately, is quite underrated outside India. Glad you enjoyed yours :)
DeleteAfter so long I read some different article. Nice post.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome Rohan :)
DeleteYes! Must...have...coffee... I know chai is the "it" drink up north, but pass the middle line of India and once is on a quest for coffee. Looking forward to giving one or all of these spots a try.
ReplyDeletePlease do, and also let me know if you find a few more cafes around :)
DeleteHey Sid!
ReplyDeleteTo walk into the friendly ambience of your favorite coffee shop down the road on a lazy Saturday morning with one of the Bourne Series book in hand and the friendly waitress already brewing your usual is really a joy! The list here has become my favorite and invites me to change my location once in a while.
Thanks for such a lovely comment Lalit :)
