Faces from Dhobi Ghat: A photo-story

Located right next to the Mahalaxmi Railway Station in the heart of Mumbai, this Dhobi Ghat is now also recognised as world's largest open laundromat. I ended up there on a on a warm Saturday afternoon when I had time but absolutely no plans.

With my camera as my ammunition I went in and had some really nice conversations, and some interesting portraits as well. Here are some :)

How to reach Dhobi Ghat

The Ghobi Ghat is located right at the Mahalaxmi local railway station, and the best way to reach here is through Mumbai locals. However, I took the more convenient way out and took a cab (Uber and Ola both work great in Mumbai) to come here.

The best time to come will be early morning (reach around sunrise) when the place is the busiest. However if you are looking to visit the place at your own pace, afternoon is actually better. The action is much less, but you do get to talk with the people quite easily.

Other offbeat things to do in Mumbai

Visiting the dhobi ghat is certainly not in the tourist circuity, unless you are truly looking to do some unusual things in Mumbai. What are the other such things?
