Little boy and the swans...errr...ducks...

There are not many days in Stavanger when you can walk around in the city for hours after dinner without a jacket, but today was one such day. It was bright and blue, and the breeze light, fresh and crisp. Everything was just right, a perfect Scandinavian summer evening.

By the way I don't think I will ever adjust to the summer sun which always follows you around during your waking hours. But I actually quite like the long days which allow me to explore the city and take pictures almost through the day...

Taking my phone and my notebook (no camera as its sometimes just too much of a hassle), I walked to the lake (barely three minutes away from home) and sat down. The lake is called Breiavatnet, but since it's such a difficult name for me, I prefer to call it just lake :)

While many around me walked or ran, I was happy to just sit and enjoy the sun. Oh and the aggressive swans. Here is the thing about swans that make me admire as well as fear them. They look like these lovely floating creatures with long and curvaceous necks which make them look so delicate, but try messing with them and they will chase you down the road.

Lovely swan...

But of course I am not the only admirer of these fascinating creatures. Many Norwegians also come here, stop by and take a picture or two. Some, however, come and sit and do nothing, often for a long long time. I really admire them and often wonder what must they be thinking. I must remember to ask TI about it, and I have a feeling that the answer may not be really profound.

Did I mention about how beautiful the walk around this lake is? The area around the Stavanger cathedral is especially stunning, and no matter what you click, the picture is bound to be stunning. Unless, of course, you take a selfie. Sometimes selfies can be stunning too, but can be disaster too, especially for the viewers. But I suggest you do exactly as you please; viewers are, at best, insignificant.

Ah! I will miss this green back home...

As some of you already know I am currently reviewing Samsung's S7 Edge, and that actually makes taking beautiful pictures easy and convenient. Haha...don't worry they are not paying me anything to say this. But I will soon do a project with them and share details about it elsewhere, thought most probably not here.

Oh by the way, this is a part of my mini-series, #StavangerDiaries - tiny stories of daily life from the Oil capital of Norway, Stavanger. And what am I doing here? Well, mostly working, but also collecting these snippets of life.
