A date with the Paranormal in Ahmedabad

What are ghosts? Is there God or devil? Where do they live? Are there any ghosts in Ahmedabad? These and more questions on my mind today. Why? Read about my recent paranormal experience from Ahmedabad and let me know what you think...

As I walked down the steps, I suddenly saw someone on the swing and staring intently at me. I saw it, but almost didn't see anything - it existed, but didn't. I felt completely helpless, unsure of what to do next. For someone who barely believed in God, belief in devil was out of question. However, in the last ten minutes my belief had wavered and I wasn't sure of anything anymore.

The room on the top floor...

I had come inside the house uninvited, but no one stopped me either. There were a couple of young boys who sat outside, staring continuously at the narrow lane outside the house, which was odd as there was nothing happening there at all. It was a hot Sunday afternoon and there was no one on the streets, no life passing by. They barely looked at me as I looked for their approval to enter - they said nothing and I took that as a yes, opened the huge wooden door and entered.

I had always been fascinated by anything old, especially old houses, so this old house was especially interesting, and I was rather excited to go in and explore. I was happy because I was alone as it would allow me time to see things at my own pace, photograph things undisturbed and just feel the space on a more personal and intimate level.

Someone on the swing...

Always excited about the rooms on top floor more, I skipped the very attractive looking veranda and took the steps. I house was unusually quite and felt a little cold, which was odd on a hot Ahmedabad afternoon. But I didn't notice it in my excitement and went ahead.

The room on the top floor was completely empty and eerily quite. I went past into what looked like library - there was one bookshelf with some old and battered books. Somehow I was afraid to go on further into the house, or even to touch something. The windows were open, but the room seemed dark, and despite the heat outside, I felt really cold. I could feel something close by, right behind me. You know how it feels when you can feel someone's presence by the warmth of their body. I felt the same, just that I felt the something cold, very cold.

I turned around and without wasting even a minute more decided to get out of the house. I knew there was something weird in this house and all I wanted to do leave.

Another swing...

As I walked down, I saw something I had not seen before. The swing was moving and there was something else moving with it. I rushed past the swing and out of the main door. As I was walking down the steps, the two boys continued looking at the road. One of them looked from the corner of his eye, and smiled a little. I wanted to stop and talk, but was afraid...

  1. A nice thriller story! If I am to drawn a conclusion I would say that how your mind behaved in that particular moment and nothing else, I believe. Anyway, I loved reading it. Pictures have come out very good, does not look like you were in a fear state of mind :-)

  2. This is one of those places that I do not think I would enter. Many years as a psychiatric nurse left me a little on the edge. Thank you for the imagery!

  3. The thrilling narration of your experience in a haunted house gave me goosebumps. The picture of the vintage house and its different corners really looks scary after reading your story. Great post, I must say.
