Zanzibar is blessed with some of the most beautiful beaches, especially along the eastern coast. Some of the most prominent beaches on the island include - Nungwi beach, Kendwa beach, Matemwe beach, Pongwe beach, Kizimkazi and Bwejuu beach. Read more about these stunning beaches here.

Nungwi Beach - located in the North of the island it is known for the party scene there
Kendwa Beach - close to Nungwi, but a relaxed beach
Matemwe & Pongwe Beach - located on the North-eastern coast, it's relatively untouched
Kizimkazi Beach - located in South, one the best places to head out for solitude
Bwejuu Beach - located on the South-East, this is one the most popular beaches here

Unfortunately when I visited Zanzibar, I didn't carry my swimming trunks as my luggage was lost in transit still. So I couldn't do the one thing that I enjoy the most - swim in the ocean! This was my only chance to swim in the ocean in Africa on this trip and I missed out on it! Maybe that also means that I will come back again to Africa for this :)
