A Masai and a Muslim

Masai is a semi-nomadic tribe which comes from the Northern part of Tanzania. You can find many Masai men walking on the streets of Dar-es-Salaam, but I saw only one in Zanzibar. They are easily identifiable by their distinguished clothes and accessories. The Masai shawls especially looks very cool and I bought one of those at the crafts market at Dar.

Muslims, on the other hand, are the dominant group on the island. They are also easy to identify because of their clothing. They wear long robes, which are usually, but not always, whit in colour. They wear short pants under the robes. If I am not wrong, the long robe is called Kanzu. I also bought one of those while I was there and walked around the market in those :)
