Kumbh 2013...

Going to the Kumbh mela this year was one of the most exceptional things I did in life. I can share my experiences with words, but I think the images speak much much more than I can ever express in words.

Kumbh Mela 2013 Allahabad Sangam Women
The women at the ghats, with a Trishul in the central shot. I clicked people, almost unabashedly, it was awesome to capture them candidly...

Kumbh Mela 2013 Allahabad Sangam bathing Indian men male guys ganga ganges
And the men at the ghats...

Kumbh Mela 2013 Allahabad Sangam sandhu naga baba aghori saints nanga
Some of the most interesting people at Kumbh are the Naga babas...

The Naga babas don't wear clothes, and cover themselves with only ash. Ash keeps them warm during the winters, and its also a constant reminder that we will turn into ash sooner or later...
