Covering an area of 747,956 acres, Yosemite National Park is one of the most popular and most visited National Parks in United States. Designated a World Heritage Site in the year 1984, the park receives about 4 million visitors every year. With an elevation range of 2,127 to 13,114 feet, the park has something for everyone - and that's where the charm of the park lies. You can simply go there to relax, hike, trek or do some serious mountaineering.
When I was in the United States, I visited the park twice - once in winter and the next time in
spring, and loved it on both the visits. This is the story from winters :)

The red on them looked so amazing...
|
For a small fleeting moment, I was all alone in the wild. I could see no one around, could hear no one talk, just the sound of waterfall; just stood letting the warm rays of the sun keep me warm, letting the cold out of me. Just moments come only occasionally and ever so briefly, yet do something magical to you, the moment stays with you, frozen and intact.

Another picture perfect moment! |

And another :) |

Saumitr in the car... |

Some more wood! |
As Saumitr mentioned, Yosemite was similar to the Himalayas, yet so different. I think the place has a very different feel to it, tough to describe yet easy to experience and savor. I know I would visit the place again, and soon, and hopefully with M, and hopefully for a much longer duration of time.
In shaa'Allah it would happen. Amen.

And more posing :) |

More wood, and some stunning colors |

And finally the group :) |
So where are the images of Yosemite as the whole world knows it? Well, there are a few and hopefully they will follow soon...
Beyond Yosemite
Once I made a trip to Yosemite National Park, I was itching to visit and explore more. The park which topped my list was the Yellowstone National Park. If you are in the same boat as me, here's a guide to travel there:

Verbal verification in the comments, that much harder, with two words that are not distinguished.
Please, you can remove it? Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback Magda :)

DeleteLike you say the contact with nature and the moments alone in silence are so precious in this world full of loudness and permanent distractions. Yosemite is such a perfect place and your great shots show the happiness of the people who were around you.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, I completely agree with you! Yosemite is truly just to lose into the wild and be completely alone...
DeleteLooks like you guys had a great time! I hope you get to go back there soon.
ReplyDeleteWe sure did, thanks for wishes :)
DeleteThe wood shots are amazing!
ReplyDeleteVery nice and interesting photographs. As my own experience goes, word verification does not help much. Its an irritant. Kindly consider removing it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback, I have removed the word verification now...hope its easier to comment now.
DeleteBeautiful beautiful shots. I was in Yosemite a few years ago. I got some really nice photos of the falls and a mountain lake. Sadly something happened to my memory card and all the photos were erased. Nice to see someone else's. Hope you had fun!
ReplyDeleteThat's terribly sad, I can imagine how you must've felt back then. Its terrible...
DeleteI am glad you liked my pics as well, I have some nice nature images also from there, will try to share them soon. Unfortunately the lake was inaccessible when I went there due to the snow...
Lovely shots ... Irene :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Irene :)
DeleteI think that as special as Yosemite would be in the winter, I think it would be much nicer in the summer. Come back to this continent then. :)
ReplyDeleteI am gonna be here in summer as well, will surely camp there then :)
